This Department ensures that crews selected carefully, based on high standards, with their Certificates in place. The company employs mostly Greek officers, while the rest of the crew is usually either Romanian, Philippino, Ukrainian, Montenegrian or Burmese (Myanmar). Finding of capable, well-trained and committed people is the objective behind the crewing function.

Karlog tries to employ crews with topmost skills and physical capabilities. All of our seafarers are fully certified in accordance with the latest STCW standards. Before signing on, all seamen participate in training programs in their countries to familiarize themselves with our Company’s policies and our Safety Management System (SMS) manuals. We always try to keep crew members who have already worked on board our vessels and are familiar with the company, with the method of rotation. In order always to select qualified crew we maintain a database of their abilities. After embarkation all officers and ratings participate in drills according to the requirements set by the ISM Code and SOLAS and become more familiar with the use of all lifesaving and fire-fighting appliances while at the same time frequent seminars and video training sessions are held on board.
